Peninsula / Chapman’s Peak Drive / Hout Bay
Distance Cahpman’s Peak approx. 42 km / 1h 10 min
Distance Hout Bay approx. 36 km / 60 min
The peninsula begins in the North at Table Mountain and ends in the South at Cape of Good Hope. Here you can find plenty of places of interests, created by the nature. Drive on the West Coast of the peninsula to Hout Bay, a small Fishermen town with charm, and visit the market at the harbour on Sundays where lots of artists show and sell their mostly hand made art.
From Hout Bay to Noordhoek you can drive on one of the most beautiful coastal highways of the world, the Chapman’s Peak Drive. 9 km long, a coastal highway with a phantastic view, a nameless adventure. This highway is a toll street, but it is worth every penny.
The highway will be used of some of the biggest automotive companies for their advertising video spots. Who knows, maybe you have seen that road already on TV, convince yourself.
Simon’s Town and Fish Hoek are located on the East side of the peninsula. Simon’s town is famous because of its Penguin-colony at Boulder’s beach.
